EXPERIENCE Langley is the newest member of the EXPERIENCE family of digital and print magazines that connect local residents with everything that makes our community special. Even better, EXPERIENCE Langley works to connect local businesses with the community through online contests, rewards, and special features to help local residents connect with their favourite stores and businesses more.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a born sales leader and have always wanted something to call your own. You know the community of Langley like the back of your hand and have an opinion on which parks are your favourite and why. You always make time to shop locally and know the difference between the City and the Township – and why they are both amazing places to live, work and play. You are comfortable talking with new people and aren’t afraid of striking up a conversation. Oh, and you don’t mind working from the comfort of your home. Importantly, you have experience in outside sales (meeting people in the real-world).

JOB DUTIES

As Sales Manager, your primary function will be to connect with local businesses and promote our digital and print engagement opportunities. We offer an incredible product with some of the most competitive promotional rates anywhere. Plus, our hyper-local strategy offers local customer/business engagement that no other platform can provide. While you will be the driving sales force behind EXPERIENCE Langley you won’t be alone. You will be joining a growing team of community ambassadors and have a whole team of staff behind you to help the EXPERIENCE Langley brand grow.

Features Writer

Experience Langley is currently looking for extremely motivated and passionate community features/events writers to join our local content team. The position offers a chance to grow and work with a fast-growing community-focused publishing company. Candidates considered will be hired on a per article freelancing contract and may be considered for a permanent full-time position in the future. Work is done remotely, Monday to Friday.

WHAT IT ENTAILS

• Creating web stories with a focus on community events, local business features, and stuff to do around the local area
• Editing, researching, copywriting
• Creating content on a weekly basis
• Social media community management on own stories
• Social media engagement on behalf of local brands
• Representing the Experience BC and Experience community brands offline and online
• Weekly brainstorming with your Editors and your team

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

• Experience copywriting, creating content, editing, and proofreading (3 months minimum)
• Impeccable writing and oral communication skills, including grammar
• Informed in and passionate about your community
• Able to follow trending topics and create exciting stories with a new angle
• Able to create clickable, mainstream content with intriguing titles accompanied by eye-catching images
• Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
• Able to learn and work effectively in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
• A self-starter with a high level of energy and motivation
• Possess a laptop with WiFi capability
• Knowledge of web publishing (WordPress) is an asset
