Exercise

Most people’s new year’s resolutions involve exercise. In most people’s busy lives, they often can’t make time for training. The reason so many people can’t keep to this resolution is since they don’t set a strict schedule. By designating times and days each week, you can make sure to continue this resolution. Another factor is frequency. When first starting, you want to pace yourself. By going once to twice a week, you can ease yourself into exercising. Also don’t strain yourself, start with speed walking, and work yourself up to more strenuous workouts. Finally, find a place to workout. Langley has many different parks to go to. A lot of people use the fort to fort trail as it offers a beautiful view along with a long trail. If you’re looking for a more indoors experience, Anytime fitness is a good gym that offers exercise equipment on your schedule!

Eating Healthy

Part of eating healthy is knowing what to buy, along with setting cheat meals/days. If you want to eat healthier, you’ve got to know where to go to buy food. Your best bet for fresh food is to go to Fort Langley’s farmers market or to go to Krause Berry Farm for local fresh fruits and vegetables. For proteins, anything that is Canadian made is guaranteed fresh and preservative free through Canada’s strict FDA laws. Your best bet for healthy proteins will be skinless chicken or turkey breast, along with fish. For bakery items, stick to whole wheat items!

Cut down on Technology

This one might be the hardest of them all. In this day and age, it is tough to get away from a phone or a television. The easiest way to get away from your technology is by finding something that keeps your mind active. That can be many things, from going on hikes, to learning art, to going to more events. If you’re looking to spend more time outside away from your devices, check our event page to see what’s happening in the neighbourhood!

We hope our blog has given you some direction for your new year’s resolutions! If you have any of your own feel free to tell us below or on Social Media! A final quick tip, if you document progress, it puts more pressure on you to keep your goals going! The staff at Experience Langley wish you the best of luck in your 2019 goals!
