Are you a breakfast connoisseur? Do you have an opinion on how brown your toast should be, or how many minutes you prefer to have your eggs poached? Maybe you just LOVE the smell of bacon and pancakes first thing in the morning? Either way, this list is for you. Our readers helped us curate this list by voting for their favourite Breakfast restaurants in the city of Langley! Feel free to try out these places for a weekend brunch! Or tomorrow. Or right now, (some offer breakfast all day!)
At the top of the hill for votes (we had to), Hilltop Diner on Fraser Highway is a local legend. They say that Hilltop is famous for their pies, but we say that they are famous for pretty well everything. For a breakfast option, we recommend the amazing Hilltop Breakfast that comes with three eggs, farmer sausage, baked beans (yeah they do), your choice of toast, and a huge serving of homemade hashbrowns. Every dish here is filled to the brim, so make sure you bring an empty stomach! For the kids, the Silver Dollars Griddle Cakes are just the right size. or the waffles, or the fritter sandwiches, or the omelettes, or, or…gahh we can’t decide. For the uninitiated, the Hilltop Diner has also been a featured location for over 27 movies and TV shows (and counting). Its retro themes and friendly staff make you feel like you’re back to the days of black and white TVs and bottomless milkshakes. Did we mention they have freshly made milkshakes?!?! If you want to see more of their menu items or take a peek at what events are coming up, give them a like on Facebook, or visit their website.
ROADRUNNER RESTAURANT CAFE 🧀🚗🏃♀️
Taking inspiration from the classic cartoon of the 1950s, The Roadrunner Restaurant Cafe is another classic go-to for those in-the-know. Tucked away just one street over from the Langley By-Pass (20475 62 Ave), the Road Runner offers huge breakfast plates that we have had lots of trouble finishing. (This is coming from the guy who usually goes back for seconds and thirds!) We recommend their incredible french toast with a side of bacon or, for something savoury, the ham and cheese omelette with toast and hash browns. Yummy. If you’d like to view their whole menu before going, check out their delicious homemade meals on Yelp!
You could say that having the word “toast” in your name gives you an unfair advantage for getting on the Best Langley Breakfast list, but the proof is in the “pancake” as it were. The Hot & Toasty Cafe has a wide enough range of delicious crepes to satisfy anyone’s cravings including the Choco Banana Crepe, Egg & Cheese Crepe, and Carmelized Apple Crepe. We just love the word crepe. Crepe, crepe, crepe. Mmmm. If you’re looking for something a little more “brunch” like, their panini and soup combos leave your stomach feeling warm and full! Check out their featured items on their Facebook page, or check out their Trip Advisor page for their full menu!
All. Day. Breakfast. We would leave it there and feel justified in our choices, but we also feel the need to tell you how incredible your breakfast experience can be if you visit this Walnut Grove favourite. Have you ever tried gelato with breakfast? Well, you can at the Bagel Classic Cafe. (Just don’t tell your parents you’re eating dessert for breakfast!) You can also try their amazing salmon loks, breakfast wraps, or classic bacon & eggs breakfast if you’re in the mood for something more traditional. Check out their full menu on Zomato, and see what’s coming up for them on their Facebook page!
We’ll admit that we are venturing into brunch territory, but if we’re ok with all day breakfast then who can say what is right and what is wrong; and who really makes the rules anyway?! Fort Langley’s own Fortitude is a relative newcomer to the Langley breakfast scene, but they are making up for it in spades with an incredible menu designed by Executive Chef Romy Prasad. Fortitude offers some incredible benedicts and hashes as well as classics like their French toast and poached eggs. Recommended by one of our readers, @kstrohm79, you should try the Porchetta Eggs Benedict when you visit them next! See their full selection on their website, or visit their Facebook to see what new recipes they’re concocting!
Here at Experience Langley, we’re always looking for a bargain. Although sales make us excited, we’re still pretty leery about quality. If it’s cheap, most of the time that means it’s poor quality. Luckily, Townhall Public House kills two birds with one stone with its $5 breakfast special! The $5 special includes two free run eggs any style, two pieces of thick-cut bacon or sausage, and two pieces of toast with Yukon gold home fries! If you’re looking for a meal that’s a little more unique, not to worry, as the most expensive item on the menu comes in at a whopping $11! With that amount of savings, you can relive your youth on their retro arcade machines, or just enjoy the cozy space! Our favourite menu item HAS to be their tomato avocado benny, the buttery avocado mixed with the richness of the poached egg leaves our tastebuds satisfied! Check out their website for the full menu, or check them out on Facebook for events happening soon!
